What You Are Doing to Chase Guys Away

Some girls are brilliant at doing this. The following stories are based on true events. All names have been changed to protect the future of the relationships of all involved.
The Notebook
This is a super speedy way to scare a guy off. Get him a relationship journal and he will run – fast.
I had no idea these things even existed until a guy friend told me he received one on the second date. The pages of this said book were waiting for the co-writers of this budding romance to pen their future out. So birthdays, the number of children they wanted and medical history were all laid out. Stating the obvious but this is never a good idea. Not only are you missing out on the ‘get to know each other’ phase of the relationship, you are also expecting a total stranger to share their intimate details with you. It’s like when people who don’t know me call me by my nickname. Too much, too soon and awkward. Back to the story…it’s no surprise he left that date and never looked back. This is probably the most effective way to write yourself out of the story ladies.
Trainspotting
The beginnings of a relationship of thrilling. Sarah* couldn’t get enough of her new man and wanted to see him one evening. So unbeknownst to him, she waited for him to arrive at his local train stop…for 3 hours! Needless to say, he thought it was a bit creepy that she waited on him for hours and never called her. None one likes a creeper and 99% of guys I’ve spoken to like the chase. Never do the find these desperate acts attractive.
Great Expectations
Sky* has been single for 1.5 years. When asked what she was looking for in a partner, she said she was picky and gave me her shopping list of criteria: gregarious, outgoing personality, tall, handsome, clever, great physique with an annual income of 100k+. He should be a family man but ideally, he would not have children. Sure these are things that every girl wants right? Issue is Sky didn’t have any of the qualities she was looking for in a partner. Like attracts like. If you want to attract a great partner, you have to be one. If you are going to set such high expectations, you have to live up to them as well.
