Little Things That Get Our Attention

Not surprisingly random acts of kindness get my attention. It could be seeing a guy offer his seat to an elderly or someone helping me with some boxes, little gestures like that show someone’s thoughtfulness and thoughtfulness is my idea of romantic. So this week, we asked our singles what little gestures guys/girls do to get their attention. Mine? When a guy offers me his seat not because he thinks I’m pregnant, but because I’m either wearing heels I can’t really walk in or lugging bags of stuff like a hobo.
That Thing Guys Do…
“When a guy stands up when I leave the table”. – Sarah, Model and TV Personality
“When a guy chooses to call you instead of texting. I find it so nice when I guy chooses to have a real conversation instead of texting. That’s sexy.” – Q
“It’s the old school chivalry that gets noticed…probably because not many guys do that stuff anymore.” – Jax
“Wait for you in their car until they see you go inside your house then drive away.” – Jen
“When they hold the umbrella for you…even if it is pink with frills.” – Iona
That Thing Women Do…
“In China, girls will bump into you and apologize. If they really didn’t mean to, they wouldn’t say anything. Most of the time though it’s up to me to get their attention. It’s just me going up to them and saying hi.” – Mark
“The best attention-grabbing thing i can think of though is directness, i.e. a girl doesn’t hint at things when they count, such as a girl telling me straight up that she likes me (I’m currently awkward at approaching a girl romantically, and oblivious to any sort of games a girl would play to try and induce me to act).” – Richard
“If it’s stuff they do for me: Cook me dinner (not sure if that’s little) Get me a drink (hot tea/coffee) Make the bed Wash the dishes Pack my stuff for work Pay for my meal. If it’s stuff they do for themselves: Wear something to show their assets (short skirt, tight top) Wear nice perfume Caring towards ppl in need.” – David
“It’s the little things like giving me silly kisses out of the blue…” – Nick
