Selfie Indulgence – Why Printing Photos is Cool Again

Sick of Instagram yet but still love a good selfie? This post may come off as a bit random but my recent attendance in weddings has made me a bit of a photobooth expert. Part fun and part indulgent, I’ve become a bit obsessed at creating momentos that actually make its way into some sort of tangible form. Key chain? I can’t get enough. Photo magnet? Yes puh-lease! When I used to visit my friends’ homes, I’d always go to see their pictures because they really do tell 1000 words. My most recent Spring clean made me realise I hadn’t printed a photo since Facebook launched…and it launched when you still needed a Universtiy email address. It was THAT long ago. So here’s our edit for you who love a selfie indulgence because printing photos is cool again.
Fuji Instax Mini
Like a modernised version of the old school Polaroid, this instant camera has all the functionality of an old Polaroid except it comes in pretty colours lke this yellow. The film is as expensive as it’s old school counterpart but you now have the option of choosing borders around your pictures – cute!
Fujifilm Instax Mini RRP $99
Cute Fujifilm Instax Mini Film RRP $40 for 20 Sheets of film
Picture Postie
Can’t pull away from your phone? Then Picture Postie is the next best thing to your digital detox. Picture Postie is a free app that lets you order photos to print from your phone. It automatically links to your Facebook and Instagram account where you can select photos for print. The best part? They are way cheaper than Polaroid film. I ordered 28 photos and the entire order came to less than $10.
Portable Photo Booth
Don’t you love those props they use at weddings? They sell them! Grab a camera, get some fabric for a backdrop and take this portable kit for a spin. You can re-use them for all special occasions.
You can either DIY your own Photo Booth Kits (msg me if you want to know how) or you can buy them on Etsy for $51
