Whether I’m single or taken, I always love shopping for fancy underwear. I’m not sure if it’s the lace or just the sheer luxury of paying a lump sum for branded bras, there’s something indulgent about it. If you have read our article about men on fashion trends, you’ll know that there is a difference between guy hot and girl hot. So what do men really think of your lingerie? Does he care that it’s from Victoria’s Secret? Probably not. We asked our panel who had much to say about this topic.
Nick on nude underwear: Much like clothes, underwear should be suited to the body type and colouring of the person wearing it. I feel there is one universal truth about underwear. That horrible, beige, skin coloured underwear makes no woman sexy! The other thing I know is that I adore a beautiful, confident women in stunning underwear, but as soon as she reaches the bed (or couch, floor or washing machine) I want it all off. There should be nothing between my skin and hers!
Adam on push up bras: Push up bras are a double edge sword. On one hand, it looks great on but once it comes off, you wonder where all the boobs went. It’s like false advertising where the goods don’t deliver. The packaging can’t be better than the real thing. Best to manage our expectations and opt for less padding…padding + push ups=the ultimate deception.
1) Basics
Nick: I don’t know why, but there is something absolutely adorable seeing a partner bouncing around the house in basic (Bonds type style) underwear.
Adam: Everyday wear is always sexy as it implies “we’re not having sex” which makes sex more spontaneous and naughty ergo sexier.
Amy: It’s alright. I wouldn’t wear it if I knew I was going to have sex. It’s practical though…seamless so I can wear fitted tops without lace coming through.
2) Lace
Nick: Corsets and suspenders, yes please! Every man wants a woman to seduce him wearing this sort of underwear! Fantasies of Trench Coats and not much else come to mind.
Adam: A g string always makes a girls ass sexier I don’t know why but it does. And if you can see nipples through a bra it’s also hot. Feels quite naughty seeing nipples through something that should generally be concealing them.
Amy: Love this and would probably save it for a special occasion. The whole garter and suspender thing is great but hard to get on.
3) Soft and Frilly
Nick: Maybe it’s just the picture listed, but no! Please make it stop! I don’t want to go to bed with my Grandma!
Adam: Frills denote an innocence and are always a little bit gay. Chicks with small boobs like frills because they think it makes them look bigger, it doesn’t.
Amy: Cute!
4) Red and Racey
Nick: Dark features and beautiful, red underwear, yes please!
Adam: Red is the colour of passion so that’s always hot and the bush up bra makes all boobs look better.
Amy: I’d need to be in a certain mood to wear red. And it’s not practical under my every day wardrobe. It wouldn’t be on high rotation this set.
