Are active events the new date?

Who hasn’t been guilty of a cheeky shot of tequila, vodka, gin… whatever your vice may be before a date to help calm the nerves? We have a funny way of turning to alcohol to dampen any insecurities or to ignite our cheery side, but there’s always going to be the morning after where there’s no escaping your personality. And why should you? After all, if your date doesn’t like the real you then they’re not worth your time. So instead of your next date involving a bar or an alcoholic beverage, spice it up with a little sweat and take the date court side, sort of speak.
Flow After Dark
This is yoga, but not as you know it. Regardless of whether your date is flexy or not they will no doubt be impressed and enjoy a different side to yoga. At Flow After Dark expect your date to be shared with 300 other yogis all wearing glow in the dark headphones and downward dogging to the sound of DJ beats. Any preconceptions of yoga will be thrown out the window with this feel good event. Not only will you both walk out feeling nimbler but also a little bit drunk on mindfulness.
Their biggest and brightest event yet is coming up in Sydney on October 27th. FLOW AFTER DARK HALLOWEEN in partnership with Brita Active, Body Science Green Tea TX100 and Ministry of Sound.
Shake It Off
If you met your date dancing why not build on your moves with No Lights No Lycra? This is a dance party devoted to hip swinging and fist pumping. Leave the makeup at home and prepare to sweat. If you can survive a date drenched in each other’s perspiration this is a good sign. The silver lining is that it is a pitch black room with nothing but sweet tunes and dopamine to lead you astray.
Sunset SUP
With summer approaching and Daylight Saving kicking in tis the season of making the most of the day. Sunset stand up paddle boarding isn’t only romantic but it’s active. Group paddle boarding is making a big splash promising killer abs and an injection of vitamin D. Supping is a playful activity which can help take the pressure off if dating is in its early days. The Australian coast is teeming with SUPs to hire so don’t be afraid to get a little wet and wild with an outdoor date adventure.
