Are you really putting yourself out there? [First Vlog!]

This post is really special to me mostly because it’s been 2+ years in the making. For a very long time, I was hesitant to put myself out there because I feared being judged. And so I continued to hide behind my blog posts and stock photos…until yesterday when I met up with my coach and she told me I just needed to do it regardless of the tools I had. When I asked her how to overcome my fear of being on video, she told me to just do it.
It took 3 takes for me to get to a point where I didn’t stumble but an hour later, I did it.
To think I had accumulated SO many excuses to not record this video. I thought I needed to buy a new iPhone or a professional camera or find a good location to shoot in, hire a professional…the list goes on. In the end, you’ll see that I just used my Macbook, an ironing board and natural light in our bedroom. It’s not perfect but it’s a starting point.
You see when we’re really driven to do something, find that guy, get a new job, workout more, there are a gazillion reasons why NOW isn’t the time to do it. But what we’re really doing is sabotaging our own dreams. I chat to women who think they need to be a certain weight, have the right date outfits, have the right job before they can feel like they’re eligible to date the kind of men that meets their criteria. Because they have all these things they needed to achieve…they don’t even try to meet men in person or online. Can you imagine how many opportunities they are missing? Sometimes just showing up is all it takes to find what you need, to connect with people who get you…just like I did today. Don’t wait.
Whether you’re looking for your ‘one’, a dream job or new house, what are you doing today to make it happen?
