The 1 Day Guide To Glowing Skin – The Secret is Simple

Let me preface this post by letting you know that this is NOT a sponsored post. It’s merely a demonstration of how much I love this range, hence, everything I’ve featured here is from A’kin. Some experts say you’re meant to use a brand at a time to get the best results and if I were to recommend any one range, this would be it. I’ve always loved the brand’s ingredient and formulations…but the texture of their products and efficacy is second to none.
Now on to the good stuff because who doesn’t want skin that radiates? We promised to share with you our 1 day guide to glowing skin. It’s a simple formula and if I were to sum it up in two words it would be H20 and sleep. Before we even begin to talk about products, I’d like to emphasize how important water and sleep is to great skin.
We’re mostly made out of water and when we don’t get enough, our skin suffers. You need to hydrate your body from the inside and out. Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day. I find keeping a water bottle with filtered water by my desk helps.
Secondly, I know how time poor you are but your body repairs itself when you’re sleeping and so when you don’t get proper rest, you are not giving your body enough time to repair your skin cells. I think of sleep like recharging a battery. If you don’t let it charge to 100% it’ll still work but you’ll burn out a lot sooner.
And…that’s the secret. Sleep and water, and the best thing is – they are both free. I find that when I’ve had a long week, a good night’s rest and staying hydrated makes a world of difference. I can see colour in my cheeks, the absence of dehydration lines and my skin just glows. Yoga also helps – I can’t provide an expert comment for this but a good hot yoga session always gives my skin that dewy glow.
Of course, we can all use a little help which is why this regime rocks.
1. Cleanse – A’kin Sandalwood and Neroli Cleansing Gel
Use a gel cleanser to wash away any makeup and residue. For gentle exfoliation, a use guaze pads instead of cotton pads. This one from A’kin lasts for ages. Well worth it for $27.99.
2. Masque It – A’kin Express Purifying Facial Masque
If your skin needs a serious pick me up, this is a great quick fix. My skin feels instantly refreshed and clean. I love this product for its usability and it’s quick turnaround. Great value as well for $19.95. I think this may have been deranged but it’s best to check with your local stockist.
3. Spritz It – A’kin Cellular Brightening Facial Mist
Remember what I said about hydration? This quenches skin thirst from the outside in. Spritz on wet skin just before you moisturise. Estimated RRP $24.95
4. Moisturise – A’kin Rose de Mai Day Creme and A’kin Firming Night Cream
I never thought a night cream was necessary until I learned how much our body works when we’re sleeping (hence why you need 8 hours of sleep each night). You need a night cream with ingredients that will aid your body to repair and nourish the skin. The ideal day cream would have SPF but in this case, I typically apply sunscreen over my day cream. The Day Cream is $38 and the Night Cream is $44.99
You can purchase the A’kin range at Priceline, David Jones or Pharmacies.
